The Group’s walks are about 5 miles in length, and take place once a month in the morning, starting at 10am, and ending with lunch in a pub. All walkers (who must be U3A members) are welcome. Please let the leaders know by the previous day if you intend to join the walk, and to confirm the details.

We welcome new members on all our walks. All-day walks are typically 8 – 10 miles and half-day walks about half that distance. No need to book – just turn up at the advertised starting place – but we do start on time.

Health Walks
Health Walks are available as an alternative walking option. They are free and start from various locations and have lengths and speeds for all abilities. Their leaders include four members of All Day Walkers 3: Derek Blundell, Jan Howell and Dale Greenwood in Winchester and Nick Waring in Overton. Thursday 9th January 2020 Start at 09:45.

All day walk St Catherine's Hill to Twyford and return.
Morning walk 5 miles. Skirt St Catherines Hill, walk across Hockley golf course and thence on Pilgrim's Trail and Monarch's Way to enter Twyford via Love Lane. Afternoon walk 3 miles via Twyford Church and Compton Lock. Please meet at the gate leading onto St Catherine's Hill map ref SU 481274. Park either in Five Bridges Road (0.7 miles from start) or Garnier Road (0.5 miles from start). Lunch at The Phoenix Inn.
